IT Company is hiring Class 12 kids directly from school


After successful completion of the programme, HCL will pay  Rs 1.8 lakh yearly to all selected candidates

While bringing a twist in the age old placement processes, the Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) will be directly hiring kids straight out of school.

According to a recent TOI report, unlike other companies who offer college placements, HCL will now hire students straight out of school and train them to be IT professionals, who in turn will work for the company.

Speaking about this new change, vice-president, HCL Technologies said:

”The programme aims to provide opportunities to bright students who do not have access to the right jobs. This will also help the company to create a dedicated workforce. We are looking at on-boarding young minds,” Srimathi Shivashankar, Vice-President, HCL Technologies told BS.

Details of the recruitment process:

According to reports, HCL Technologies will give training to 200 Class 12 students for a year. The training process will begin from April. Further, all the candidates will be given entry-level software jobs.

How to apply:

All the students need score minimum 85 per cent in their Class 12 board exams whereas CBSE students need to possess minimum 80 per cent to get into the programme.

Here’s what students will learn:

In the early months, students will learn a combination of basic engineering courses which includes application development, software testing, application support, and infrastructure management services.

In the last three months, almost 100 students will be on-the-job training each in Lucknow and Madurai HCL training campuses.

Salary offered:

After successful completion of the programme, students will be paid Rs 1.8 lakh yearly.

Programme highlights:

All the students will also get the opportunity to complete Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from SSN Engineering College through a weekend college programme.

Meanwhile, the India’s IT sector has witnessed a significant shift from traditional services to digital technologies. Due to lack of technical knowledge, fresh graduates are incapable to work on emerging technologies.
